Soooo, I don’t have to tell you about the frustrations with our health insurance marketplace systems not working. The media and talk radio hosts took care of that. But, I bet you didn’t know about the frustrations us insurance professionals have been going though. We’ve always been able to help people in REAL time. Solve their problem, provide solutions. To say we’ve been feeling somewhat incompetent at times is an understatement. Frustration took on a whole new meaning as we dealt with delays, confusion, and feelings of helplessness. If we lost some brokers to retirement though this ordeal, I completely understand. It’s been exhausting. Even carriers trying to do the right thing by allowing anniversary date changes to current customers, experienced their own “glitches.” Who knew THAT would create such a headache for clients? From being unable to verify coverage, get prescriptions or even pay their bill online. Will it ever end?
Well, I think we’re finally seeing the light. Our office has successfully assisted clients with picking a plan, applying for a tax credit, and applying for insurance! Champagne, anyone?!
Now, don’t get me a talking about how I personally feel about the Affordable Care Act, I’m here to help people get what they are rightly entitled to. We’re YOUR ticket to being insured! Your “easy button”.
So, here’s the deal. If you or your spouse do not have a group health plan available to you through employment, you may qualify for a tax credit (or subsidy) based on your family size and household income. That means the government will pay a portion of your insurance premium. But we want to help you find out. See, we are professionals; trained, licensed, and certified. Health Insurance is what we do. We will tell you if that plan stinks or if that plan is awesome. Being that you can’t change your plan for a year, it’s pretty dang important you pick the right one the first time. And for those who think they pay less by NOT using a professional like us. You are WRONG.
